I would like to use Bonzai desktop on 2 computers (without using the U3/USB option).
What do I need to sync to have the same categories and keywords on both computers?

Bonsai stores it's keywords in the user's "Bonsai config xxx.dat" file. While Bonsai does not provide any means to sync these settings between two PCs, you can manually copy the settings between the "Bonsai config xxx.dat" files. Details on how to do this is detailed in the user manaual here (Look for the table entry for the "Bonsai config xxx.dat" item). Copying the entire file between the two PCs is not recommended as the outline list is also stored in this file among other settings.

How do I transfer the desktop version to another computer permanently and keep the keywords, etc.

I am no longer syncing with my Palm PDA.

Install Bonsai on the other computer and then as I mentioned in my initial reply, manually copy the keyword settings between the "Bonsai config xxx.dat" files.
