Idea for making it easier to see what branch I'm working on when editing notes...
All other areas get darkened. (This instead of the dotted rectangle?)

Something like this would be great, or even the opposite - color the selected item in some way. The dotted line can be really hard to spot.

I agree, the dotted rectangle can be hard to see. I sometimes find myself inside the note field with no idea which item I'm noting, scrolling up and down thru my items looking for "those damn dots" (as Winston's father, Sir Randolph Churchill, referred to decimal points. Apparently he was a big picture kinda guy.) Cheers!

I prefer darkening the outside as opposed to coloring the selected item, but either would work.
