I'm using Bonsai to manage tasks that need to be done for various concerts I coordinate. I have a checklist of items that needs to be completed prior to each event; the event itself being the Parent item with all of the preceding and followup tasks listed beneath it. For example:
Concert in Madison, WI 5/1/2010
- Send Contract
- Send posters
- Send email newsletter
- Write press release
- Distribute Press release to local media
- Run Event - Due 5/1/2010
- Complete followup documents
- Etc
I would like to be able to enter a date for the parent item, and have the due dates for the child tasks auto-populate. For example: If the event date were May 1st, I could tell it that Send Contract & Send Posters must be done two weeks prior. Similarly, Complete followup documents would need to be done ten days afterwards.
I hope I've effectively communicated what I am trying to do; it's a little hard to explain. The benefit would be that I could copy and paste this checklist for each Event I am coordinating, and then only modify one date (the actual date of the event, "Run Event") and the rest of the dates would fall into place. This would save me a ton of time of having to manually enter dates!
Please let me know if this is possible. Right now I'm using Bonsai 4.
Thanks very much for your time!
