I am a long-time Bonsai for Palm and Windows user. I am preparing to transition to a new device and platform, so I am very interested in the Windows Mobile version of Bonsai.
Unfortunately, attempting to "trial" a phone and an application when you do not own the device is very challenging. I have spent a lot of time at cell phone stores doing the best I can. I downloaded Bonsai today on an HTC Tilt 2.
One challenge is if I struggle with a particular feature, I do not know if the issue is with my ignorance of the device or of the beta software. I was unable to enter a value into the Custom (Cost) field. I hope it is supported already and that the problem was just with my unfamiliarity with the phone; can you confirm that I should be able to enter a value into the cost field? And will the cost value accumulate to parent task like the Palm version?
I noticed another issue that, again, may be my awkwardness with the device. I was trying the indenting/outdenting action. I entered a parent task, hit "space" to indent for a child task and entered it. Then I hit space again, which provided me with a child of the child. I wanted to etner a new top-level task though, so I hit space again, and it outdented once. Then I hit space once again and it outdented to the top level. However, at that point, I could no longer see the text of the sub-task I had just finished entering. Also, I could not determine where my cursor was positioned; I expected to be able to begin typing my new parent task but I had to navigate away and back to get positioned back into the new top-level task.
Can anyone confirm that the above issues were just operator error and not issues with the software (or the phone, for that matter)? Thanks!

OK, follow-up: I got back to the phone store and tried it a bit more. I was able to get a cost value into the cost field, but after changing the details and returning to the outline view, the cost value was still showing zero. Is there a 'save' operation that I needed to click?
One more question - I didn't think to try coloring; is that supported yet? Colors associated with categories etc.? Thanks again!

I just tested the Cost (custom column) and it worked fine.
Saved, rolled up into parent values, etc.
Concerning the overall Palm -> Win Mobile comparison.
The WM version is definitely not as polished.
It's also slower than the Palm version.
But it's much better than it was when I 1st switched to WM and it's infinitely better than no Bonsai at all.

Thank you for replying!! That is good news.
Do you sync with a PC? Has that worked well for you?

Yes to the Sync with a PC.
I always have.
It's very different than the Palm sync.
Mobile Device Center (was called ActiveSync) is always on. You don't initiate the sync.
I've read some about problems with Mobile Device Center but it's worked pretty well for me.
There are some odd things from time to time. For example, on my recent switch from a Treo Pro to a Touch Pro 2, there was some problem with one or more Note(s) from the old system and Sync just stopped.
Removing Notes from the Sync settings fixed it.
Syncing Bonsai and DayNotez works pretty well.
From time to time, I spot some incorrect syncing but it works well for the most part.
