I have been using daynotez for a couple of years with no problems on my axim x50
I had to reset my computer(xp) and ended up having to redo daynotez on the axim and the pc.
At this time I am getting a error that says
unable to open database at \My Documents\Natara\Daynotez\DynotezDb3.sdf. Reason: error code 80004005
Minor error: 28609
Message: unspecified error [ My Documents\Natara\Daynotez\DaynotesDb3.sdf ]
source: SQL Server Compact ADO.NET Data Provider
err. par. : My Documents\Natara\Daynotes\DaynotezDb3.sdf

i have searched the forum and tried changing the db name, no luck
tried to get a error log and when i double click the files they give me the file properties.
this is a newer version of what i was using, any way to go back to the old version?
any help would be appreciated

Are you trying to use DayNotez 1.5 with a database that was created with DayNotez 1.1? This would be the case if you configured to store your DayNotez database on the storage card and the new version of DayNotez was able to locate it when it was first launched. If so, was DayNotez 1.1 installed before upgrading to 1.5? Normally, DayNotez v1.5 will convert the v1.1 database to the new format automatically but it requires the SQLCE component from DayNotez v1.1 be installed in order to open and convert the database. Without this componet, the conversion fails.
If the problem is the database cannot be converted and if you sync with your PC, it might be easiest to recreate an empty database and sync with the PC so your notes can be sent over to the Pocket PC. Follow these steps to recreate the database:

  • Close DayNotez on the Pocket PC if it is running.
  • Use File Explorer to rename the DayNotezDb3.sdf which can be found in the “My Documents\Natara\DayNotez folder. It could also be stored in the DayNotezData folder on a storage card. Rename the file to something like DayNotezDb3_Orig.sdf. Also rename the DayNotezDb.sdf file, if it exists.
  • Start DayNotez on the Pocket PC to create an empty database.
  • Synchronize your device.
  • Once you verify your data is back on your Pocket PC, delete the renamed database from step 2.
