Is Palm Pre much better in terms of Bonsai performance run on Classic, compared to PalmOS devices?

Has anyone tried large outlines on Pre, or other tasks where Bonsai is not very fast on PalmOS?
Does it really work two times faster as MotionApps promises universally?

I am considering Palm Pre as a replacement for my old PalmOS device--but as long as there's no promise for native WebOS port of Bonsai, only performance improvement can be a factor in favor of Pre over "buy just another Treo PalmOS device".

Thanks!

I can't speak for whether it's faster or not as I've not tried it. I might though this weekend if I get a chance. However, if you're going to be upgrading your Sprint phone either way - a new Pre or a Treo - then I say get the Pre and try it out. Sprint gives you 30 days to return it and exchange the phone for something else, and the Classic app has a trial period too. It's pretty much risk free.

Warning though... the Pre is a great phone. You probably won't want to give it up even if you aren't satisfied with Bonsai on it. :)

Good luck!

Whoops... just noticed your home city of Moscow. I haven't a clue what your options are there for purchase and exchange. But I bet you'll still love the Pre. ;)

Thanks for your help.
You are right, I'm in Russia and options even for buying are very few, which leads to virtually no option for exchange.

However, looking forward to hearing your experience about Pre performance.

I tried the palm pre for a week with motion classic app and bonsai latest version. I had very dissapointing results as the lag time between opening classic then opening bonsai was about 10-30 seconds to start up. It was not convenient at all when you compare it to the 1 second on my treo 755p. Additionally the enter button is not as reponsive on the classic bonsai and you are required to use touchscreen more. I choose to downgrade and get a new palm treo 755p until the technology settles. THe pre seems like a great web device but still not functional enough for me to remain. The full buttons on the treo are missed.
