Greetings,
I have a problem that started on the Palm TX, but now seems to be a problem on the handheld as well as desktop and syncing. I had a file on my Palm TX that I could not opened or delete. Trying to either open or delete would has no affect at all. I have tried to delete from the desktop and sync with "desktop overwrites handheld" with no success. At the first sync, the sync log give the error that "file cannot be opened on handheld". Second time, with sync still set to "desktop overwrites handheld", I got the message that the file cannot be found at C:\... where the file was located. I have tried to delete the file from the within Bonsai Desktop as well as from the directory where the file is located. I was able to rename the file on the desktop and sync with "desktop overwrites handheld" so now I can open the renamed file with no loss of data, but I cannot get rid of the file on the Palm TX or on the desktop. Each sync returns the file to the desktop with a yellow warning triangle.
You support is appreciated.
Regards,
Dwight...

On the handheld side, have you tried doing a "refresh" to see if the file in question gets removed? It's possible that the file being listed is not actually on the device any longer, but the Bonsai data file that keeps track of the known outlines wasn't updated to reflect that. Go the the outline manager dialog on the Palm side and use the "View-Refresh" menu item.

I still cannot read or delete the file. Doing a "refresh" either causes an imediate reset or it seems to remove the file but the very next tap or button causes a reset. I have tried deleting from the desktop directory and the backup folder and desktop overwrites handheld sync, but still the file remains. Hotsync log reports "file cannot be found on desktop..." or "file does not exist on handheld...". It does not seem to affect any other files; however, I am not really comfortable with a corrupt file on the device.
Thank you for all that you do!!!

Greetings,
Any suggestions on how I might be able to either fix the file or delete it? There was once a problem with certain characters in outlines. I think that was fixed, but just to make sure, are there currently characters that I should avoid?
Thank You,

Dwight,
Sorry for the delay in responding. If the View/Refresh command is not fixing the issue, my only suggestion is to use a file manager such as FileZ to see if the outline is really on the Palm device. It will be named NO_<Outline>.PDB. If it is not present, then it may be necessary to delete the Bonsai preferences resolve this. Unfortunately this means all of your Bonsai application settings will be reset to default. Do this by clicking the “View Preferences” button on the main FileZ screen. If you do not see this option, you are not at the main screen and you should click the “Close” button to return you to the main screen. Look for the two NOtl Bonsai entries in the list and delete them.
