Hello,
I've been using keywords to set up my filters recently. They seem better than catagories as I can assign more than one keyword which, similar to tags, allows me to call up endless possibilies with the filter function. I can assign standard GTD 'Contexts' (@computer, @agendas, @shopping list etc) plus other keyword catagories such as Location: (@london, @brighton, @southampton etc) and 'People'(@john, @paul, @ringo etc)
So I can keep a list of things I need to talk to ringo about (@agendas, @ringo)
Things I need to buy in town (@shopping lists,@london)
Anyway all this becomes a bit cumbersome to input. For my system to work it's crucial to input accurately. I could hit the 'details' button and input from there or If I right click I can choose a keyword catagory and then 'tick' the one I need, if I need another one I have to go back choose the catagory again. If I need to change the keyword from one to another I have to go through this process each time, unchecking going back and checking. Either way it is slow and difficult
It would be far better to right click, then get 3, 4, 5 columns or however many catagories of of keywords you have pullout with radio button which can toggle on or off with a single click and stay open. This would allow single, or multiple assignments of keywords to any item quickly and easily.
If anyone else uses keywords as 'pseudo' tags they would know what I mean.
Cheers
Rich

Using Keywords As Tags

Suggestion: Make the name of each keyword begin with the letter of the category for that keyword. Example:
Context keywords would be : C@computer, C@agendas, C@shopping list etc
Location keywords would be: L@london, L@brighton, L@southampton etc
People keywords would be: P@john, P@paul, P@ringo etc
Then, when you want to assign keywords to an item, hit Alt-K. The menu that pops up will list all your keywords, sorted alphabetically. By naming them in the manner above, it will show your Context keywords, grouped by category. That menu will also allow you to select multiple keywords at once to assign to an item.
It's not exactly what you want, but assigning multiple keywords will take much less clicking/keystrokes. :-)
