The issue happens on Bonsai Palm, in a tree list, no matter created by Bonsai desktop or on palm directly, when reviewed, if move the text cursor land on the last subitem of any "branch", then click "home icon" on bottom tool bar to exit to project list.
and then re-open previous list, we'll see the cursor will also be in the "last time branch" and the last subitem. but the item number will has something wrong.

For example for a list

A.Report to boss
A.1 collectiing data
A.2 prepare outline of report
A.3 Send to boss to confirm and get approval.
A.4 Build the first part of report
A.5 build the second part of report
A.6........
A.7........

move the cursor to A.7, or after edit A.7 content, then tap "home icon" at the bottom, the list will exit and be saved.
from project list form, if open previous list, would found the numbers become:

A.Report to boss
A.1 collectiing data
A.1 prepare outline of report
A.2Send to boss to confirm and get approval.
A.3 Build the first part of report
A.4 build the second part of report
A.5........
A.6........

The first items has the same number, and the last one of course become A.6--------------A.(7-1).

There're several method to recover normal order, such as collapse branch A and re-expand it, or open preferce then close,
both will work. but anyway, it's a small bug.

Hope it could be confirmed and improved.

I was unable to reproduce this issue. What version of Bonsai is on your Palm device? Are you able to reproduce this with an eight item outline or does your outline file contain many more items? Do you have any other features enabled like zoom or filter?

I just installed Bonsai 5.0.2
For 8 item branch, it's ok, what I met with issues just on the end level of branches
I found issues just happens on those branch with odd numbers sub-items, for even number branches, no problem.
so I think it's a bug. I have checked all possible preference items, no effect on this issue, and I have different device such as treo650, treo680, centro,TX, that the same.under the 3 methods to creat trees, the cases are also the same, including use desktop to sync, use desktop to export pdb file, directly creat on Palm.

I 've tried just creat a simple tree with just 2 levels, a father level with several sub-items, it's the same.

1 XXXXXXXX
--1.1 XXXXXXXX
--1.2 XXXXXXXX
--1.3 XXXXXXXX
--1.4 XXXXXXXX
--1.5 XXXXXXXX

put the cursor in any place of 1.5,exit to project list, after re-open,

1XXXXXXXX
--1.1 XXXXXXXX
--1.1 XXXXXXXX
--1.2 XXXXXXXX
--1.3 XXXXXXXX
--1.4 XXXXXXXX

collapse the branch, then expand it, the issue were recovered. and do the cycle again, it re-occurs.

Sorry, I entered the simple outline just like you listed and each time I open it, the numbering is correct. Any other clues on how to reproduce this? If possible, can you hard reset one of your devices and only install Bonsai (without having HotSync restore your previous data) and then test again. Does it still happen?
