I set a to-do's contact as "Jack, Rose" to indicate that there are 2 people doing it.
I also make a filter in which i set the contact as "Rose" to check all the to-do that Rose will do.

When i enable the filter, it tells me there is no fitted entry.

However, after i sync the outline to the desktop, the very filter can work. the foresaid to-do entry with contact "Jack, Rose" is in the result list.

That is to say the same "Jack, Rose" fits the filter's condition on desktop but doesn't on palm.

I'm using Bonsai 5.02 build 3198

That behavior is as designed. Palm's design guidelines for filtering are matching the entire entry rather than allowing for partial matches. The Bonsai Palm app is following these guidelines. Unfortunately, this means different results between the two platforms.
Have you considered using keywords instead of contacts for this purpose? Keywords are designed to assign multiple tags (names in your case) to an outline item and you can filter based on the item containing one of those keywords.

Great idea!
I will try it.
Thanks!

I understand that Palm is designed that way, but it is a very poor design. I am testing BEIKS find as a work around, but if ever there are any further developments to the Palm OS version of Bonsai, I hope this is one of the top priorities. The above issue is a good example of how this hinders useage. Trying to find web site data in Bonsai for Palm is another limitation, e.g. www.natara.com. There are many more examples...

Thanks,
Dwight...
