Hi folks,
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm not clear on what I need to do next now that I've installed the 5.0.1. desktop on the beta. The Buy Now link merely takes me to the Natara home page; I don't see an option to puchase a license for Bonsai 5. Also, after my my first sync, I'm now getting a message from Bonsai when it starts on the Treo that says "That is not a valid registration number for your Palm user name." I tried putting my v4 reg code into 5.0.1., but it was rejected.
Worst of all, the alphabetic keys in the Palm version now don't produce any typed characters in the outline view. I can navigate the outline, and delete characters (with backspace) or entire items, but I can't add new text. (I _can_ add new text in Notes view.) This all is new since installing the beta yesterday evening. I am correct in thinking that a valid registration code will get the keyboard working?
Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry if we did not clearly communicate the registration status with the beta. At the current time, we do not have our online store updated to accept the Bonsai v5 upgrades. We will get this in place very soon and certainly before we are ready to officially release this upgrade. Since (at least on the desktop) you will have the 30 eval period, this should not be a problem. If this becomes a problem, let me know and I can provide an eval code during the beta.
I am not sure why the keyboard is not working for you. Other than requiring a v5 registration number, no changes have been made to the Palm version of the beta. Has anyone else seen this issue?

Tom, do you have the Classic "Switch Keyboard" thing enabled?? If so, then typing in notes doesn't work. You can tell because it writes letters on the DPAD and hard keys. You can enable/disable it through the Classic menu or by hitting either of the "ABC" buttons in the bottom corners. Just turn it off. I think it's there to help people wanting to run PalmOS games.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for this reply. I do not know for sure that the sudden appearance of the problem with the alphabet keys in Palm 5 on my Treo is related to the Bonsai beta or not, but I suspect so because the problem showed up at the same time as the "Invalid Number" message showed up, immediately after my first Hot Sync with the beta. I've given a pretty full description of my investigations in this topic, where user drawkab has reported something similar with the beta. If you have any thoughts they'd be most welcome!
Thanks again for the reply.
Regards,
Tom Davey

I'm fine with using the trial on the desktop until you have the store ready for v5, but everytime I open an outline on my palm I get a dialog box about not a valid registration number for my palm username. This dialog is becoming very annoying.
