Is there any plans for porting Bonsai to the Palm Pre?? I have a new Pre and I need _something_ to do GTD for me. I'd prefer to stick with Bonsai. Can you give me any news so I can plan?

Thanks

Dave

Hello Dave,

Check out this YouTube video on Palm Pre "Classic" from Motion Apps: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=3pDG0VsI9bc

The video definitely shows Bonsai and Daynotez icons on the demonstrator's Palm Pre. I don't know what desktop sync you get, though.

If you try it, do let us all know how you get on.

Regards,
Stéph

Classic doesn't support hotsync ... yet. They claim they are looking at it, but they haven't made any commitments (that I have seen). If there was Hotsync for classic then it would be a decent holdover. But realistically there need to be a native app that can work with the rest of the system. I'm hoping Natara can say something about their plans. Eventually someone will come out with a good native app.

Yes. I also assume that with Classic we'd lose all the ToDo and Calendar linking of Bonsai, because the Pre's task and calendar apps will be different.

I guess I'm going to stick with my T/X for the foreseeable future, even though it's clunkier and slower than my T3 used to be (the grafitti input is pretty appalling) and there's lots of web reports of digitiser and power button failures. Seems to me that, with the slicker user experience provided by the fancy new iPhone, Pre and Android multi-touch operating systems, Windows mobile will die off soon after the old Palm OS (or have to change drastically). I won't be switching to Windows mobile and I hate the idea of having to pay a (high) monthly fee for access to my personal information via web/cloud services. I can only hold out until the Pre evolves into something with desktop sync capability, or something else comes out to suit my demographic. If that doesn't happen then, in the long term, I guess I'm contemplating a backwards step to Outlook desktop and paper-based mobile system... Please, No! :(

Sorry, I've gone all off-topic in that second paragraph.

Pre's got potential for combined home and business use, though - Looking forward to Pre v2 + fully integrated and desktop sync'd Bonsai for Pre...
