I've updated Bonsai on my Win Mobile device running Windows Mobile 6 on an HTC TyTN.

The first thing I noticed was the size of the menu icons which run across the bottom of the PDA screen seem to be twice the size of previously and I cannot find anywhere to reduce them. The new icons seem too large to me.

Secondly, I can scroll these icons to the left (ie tapping the scroll 'arrow' on the right of the screen so the icons move leftwards) but the opposite direction arrow does not respond to taps (ie so that the icons move rightwards to return to the first icon).

The only way of getting the icons back is to close Bonsai then reopen to recover the scrolled icons.

I found the same problem with the bottom icons with my IPAQ hx2790 and WM5. However, I found that I can use my stylus to drag the icon bar left or right. My finger does not work, although if I press too hard whatever action is associated with the icon my finger is on will be executed.

I'll see about adding a toolbar size configuration (small/large). Currently Bonsai only allows for large icons.

As Peter indicated, the toolbar makes use of touch scrolling where you need to tap and drag the toolbar to move it. The arrows are merely an indicator that more buttons are off screen; they are NOT intended to be scroll arrows such that you click them to scroll in that direction. I will look into why you cannot use your finger to scroll the toolbar.

Thanks. A smaller size might be useful but...

I hadn't discovered the drag and scroll function until Peter's post. It does work for me. And with that function the large icons make good sense. Given that, intuitively, I expected to be able to tap the left arrow and scroll back towards the beginning of the bar in the same way that tapping the right facing arrow works, I'd say that that would be a function that needs to be looked at. The small icons will need the arrow tapping facility to work well I think.

I just tried dragging the scroll bar with my finger again and this time it worked. I agree with Andrew that the left and right arrows can imply that tapping them will move the bar.

It would be nice if you could turn off the menu icon completely (Menu -> View -> Menu Icon). An even better solution would be to provide a full screen mode. There is so little screen real estate in the smartphone display, that it will be nice to see more of your outline instead of the top status bar, menu icon, and soft keys.

Hello,

I also have a TyTN (a PPC with touchscreen AND Keyboard). I think the icon bar is a handy way to access certain functions. My problem is that it often grabs input focus and I'm not able de-focus it. Bonsai's Enter, Space, Cursor Keys, shortcuts concept is perfect for this phone but since the introduction of the icon bar most of these keys operate on the icon bar instead of the outline.

That brings me to a second point: The dustbin needs a confirmation or an undo...

Kind regards, keep up the good work.
