trying out the latest beta on my wm5 touchscreen device.
i'm not able to install using the .exe or the .cab. i keep getting an error saying to "shutdown activesync before trying to install bonsai". i don't have activesync running and before trying to install just the .cab file, i made sure that activesync was not running on my pda. any ideas?

While this issue has been resolved directly via Natara support email, I am posting a followup for anyone else encountering this error.
The problem is the uninstall code ensures the Bonsai sync dll is not locked by the ActiveSync process before continuing. If the installation directory is manually deleted, this test will return a false positive and will prompt the user to shutdown the ActiveSync app.
While this will be resolved in the next beta, for now there are two possible solutions:
The problem is the uninstall code ensures the Bonsai sync dll is not locked by the ActiveSync process before continuing. If the installation directory is manually deleted, this test will return a false positive and will prompt the user to shutdown the ActiveSync app.
While this will be resolved in the next beta, for now there are two possible solutions:
- Create the Bonsai installation directory that was deleted. It defaults to \Program Files\Natara\Bonsai if installed into main memory or \<Storage Card>\Program Files\Natara\Bonsai but the path may vary based on your WM OS. Only the directory needs to be created and it does not matter that the files are missing.
- Try re-installing again and this time click OK on the “Shutdown ActiveSync …” message. You should see this message a total of 3 times, about 30 seconds apart. It is likely that the message is not brought to the foreground and you will need to open the Start/Settings/System/Memory tool, running programs tab and select the “Bonsai Setup” and click the Activate button. This will bring the dialog to the foreground. The dialog will appear in sets of three and you might encounter one set during the uninstall and another during the install for a total of 6 times.
