Ok folks. I've been experimenting with Bonsai and Agendus desktop for several days. I was trying to get a neat GTD system setup so I can 1) use Bonsai to track only undated, dated, and recurring todos and 2) use Agendus to track only meeting (non-todo) and calendar items.
Problem: Bonsai doesn't do recurring todos.
Tried workaround:
1) Set Bonsai to {xxx} tags.
2) Create todo with due date in Bonsai.
3) Link the todo item in Bonsai.
4) Hotsync. Now the todo item appears on Agendus (desktop).
5) Modify the Agendus todo item to be a repeat task.
6) Hotsync again.
7) Goto Bonsai. Check off the todo as completed.
8) Hotsync again.
9) Goto Agendus. The todo item has been marked as completed. :) But wait - the todo item does not repeat the task even though it is set to recur.
10) Ok. Repeated steps 1-6. This time, I checked off the todo item in Agendus. The todo item repeated to the new date as expected. But this is not what I want.
Is there a way to make Agendus repeat a todo after completing it via the link from Bonsai?
Tried workaround #2:
Repeated 1-9 using DateBk6 and Palm Desktop. This workaround worked for awhile. Then I mistakenly did something to a task on Palm Desktop when I was supposed to modify it in Bonsai. Synchronization errors started. In addition, my Palm Desktop kept crashing on my Vista system. So back to Agendus we go. (I just want to say that I still think DateBk6 is a great software but DateBk6 doesn't have a desktop app.)

Repeats will always have to be checked off in the datebook program, be it Datebk6 or Agendus. I'm really hoping Natara adds repeat and alarm functionality to Bonsai.
Also FYI, there is now a desktop program that works with Datebk6, Pimlical:

As the link suggests, its currently a beta preview in progress. It's a java program, but it's working quite well - the plans are for it to be available on the main desktop OS's such as windows, linux, mac, and later also on phones or pda's that have a java environment.

Hey, thanks. I tried Pimlical as you'd recommended. This program is a breath of fresh air. Simple, focused, portable, and powerful -- yet it is still not ready. The act of changing a linked todo to recurring causes Pimlical to generate a copy of the same todo without the recurring. Pimlical is very promising. I will keep looking out for Pimlical to move out of beta.

Are you saying that it works on Palm Desktop if you're careful?
