For some reason every time i select an outline name my computer dings. It will still open the outline for me but why do i always have to hear the error ding?

Is this in Bonsai on the PC? What version of Bonsai are you running?
I am not aware of any reason Bonsai would beep when an outline is opened unless an error dialog would be displayed. Do you have any other third party software loaded that might hook file open calls?

I have Bonsai 4.27. This is the windows and palm version. the one that beeps is my desktop bonsai. Not sure what hooking open file calls mean.

Let me guess. You're running Vista. That is actually not a Bonsai specific issue, but a problem with the sound manager and one of the settings that gets goofed up. I'll try to dig up the link that explains how to "fix" it. My system did this for quite some time with various programs until I found the "fix".
