Will any effort be made to fix this?

Unfortunately, short term no. We are very busy working on other projects and have very limited time/resources for the Palm OS platform. Given the sales of our Palm OS products as of late and the general outlook of the Palm economy, Natara needs to focus in other areas.

Sounds great, but Bonsai is a very feature rich outliner and it is not this easy. How do you know the outline level of a given item? To display the outline numbering, you need to know not only the level but also the child position of the item and all of its parents. Does the operation force a recalculation of "rolled up" values from the children. I am sure the code can be optimized but I do not foresee it being a quick and simple change. Also keep in mind that this delay varies based on either the device or the device's configuration.

Does that imply that WinMobile version of Bonsai will be really fast with large outlines like mine?

The current version of Bonsai for WM is not fully optimized so I would not try a very large outline with it today. Until it is optimized, I cannot answer your question with 100% certainty. First, given the differences between the Palm and WM versions, I am not sure how fast the initial load and saving of the outline will be once optimized (expect it to be slower that on a Palm). Once the outline is loaded, I expect that Bonsai will respond reasonably when making common outline actions such as inserting and checking off items.

Do you have any timeframe for having WM version fully optimized (as defined above)?

Would moving large branches around outline and/or cutting-pasting them, scrolling up-and-down with filter enabled, inserting with filter enabled, zooming-in and zooming-out with filter enabled--all considered as "common actions that will respond reasonably" with a large outline (several thousand items)?
