I'm new to Bonsai, and am using it to track tasks for a group of people. I see only 1 way to add a custom column, and it appears to be numeric. I'd like to add a custom "yes-no" column. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks in advance for any feedback/suggestions.

You're right, you do only get the one custom numeric field. The trick with Bonsai is to think around what you can do with the existing set of data fields (which include text, checkbox and selection fields). Here are the options I can think of, depending on what you're using other columns for:

Use 0 & 1 in the custom column to represent no & yes - Added benefit is that you can use the sum to easily report the number of yes answers.

The checkbox is basically a yes/no column, unless you are already using it in it's traditional sense to track task completion.

Use the Category column (if you're not using it for anything else).

Use keywords - you could even set up a keyword category specifically for the question you're trying to answer yes or no to.

Hope one or more of these is useful to you. (I use Bonsai to track tasks which I've passed to other people, too, and I've managed to set it up without needing a custom column, so there's probably a way of setting it up to do what you want, with the existing fields).

All the best,
Stéph

Steph,
Your suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks! I think I'll try using a keyword for my needs.
