Thanks for a great Product - group - Bonsai - Comet -

I realize it is a lot of work to create a WM version of Bonsai and to continue to improve the Palm and desktop versions. - any chance Bonsai will ever be ported to Blackberry?

Thanks

Jim

All I can say is at the current time we do not have plans for a BlackBerry version of Bonsai. We will continue to watch the handheld market and see how things develop.

I would like to express my interest in a Blackberry version! Bonsai and DateBk are the two programs the keep me using my Palm Tungsten|C at all. Boy would I like to have only one mobile platform!

I just made the switch from treo to the superior blackberry. Treo is working on a slow demise and blackberry will win the fight for market share. It is time for bonsai to strongly consider making its applications for the blackberry. I was disapointed to find that my bonsai applications will not work on my blackberry but if bonsai does not step up I will find an alternative that someone has developed or will develop.
Thanks for the memories but I guess it is time to move on since there appears to be no interest on the part of bonsai to support the supperior blackberrý.

I too, would like to express interest in Bonsai for Blackberry!

And as other apps have gone, a web based Bonsai!

I'm switching to the Bold this month as well & transferring all my data. Bonsai is one of my main apps, & I'd dearly love to have it on the BB!

is natara planning on even continuing as a business? It seems like you're focused on the palm and windows handhelds, neither of which is particularly strong IMHO.

I'm astonished you would not be in a big rush to support the iphone and blackberry.

If you don't plan on continuing, why not just sell the business to someone who will drive it forward? Bonsai is far and away the best outliner; it would be a shame to lose it.

FYI: We are very much here and continuing as a business. I'm not sure just how "large" a company you think we are, but resources are stretched.. both man power and money. We are very serious about adding another mobile platform, but unless you are looking for some "crap app", we are not rushing anything out. Just because we've made no public announcements doesn't mean we are not working on something.

Nothing serious has been done on the Palm side of things for several months, and the Windows Mobile market is no where near dead yet.

Bryan,

I'm glad you don't want to make a "crap app". I'm disappointed that I see so many of those for both the iPhone & the BlackBerry so far. I'm fed up with the stability of my Treo, & I can't believe no one wants to do any real work on devices on other platforms. I have all my business on my Palm & am trying to transfer to BB with not much success. It's really hard to completely rethink all your models for project management & tasks. I'd hate to have to keep track of things in a lowly memo or some sort of relational database.

I need hierarchical task management!

Tom, my thoughts exactly.

Bryan: i for one am well aware you have limited resources and certainly don't want a low quality app... But it would be to your advantage to make your product plans public, then people could plan to move to the platforms you plan on supporting. otherwise they will find other alternatives instead. Companies like microsoft always announced their products well in advance.

I am more in favor of Iphone/ipod touch. I can't wait to throw away my Treo... I am carrying this latter simply for calendar and PRIMARILY for Bonsai... Imagine the pain...

I just got a Blackberry Storm and need to somehow get all the data from Bonzai over to my new BB. Is there any way to even export the data?

Obviously, I would love to have Bonzai on the Blackberry.

Oh yes, plenty of ways (on the desktop copy of Bonsai)!

Have a look at the manual and it will tell you about how you can export as a csv, xml, text file or, best of all, set up your own templates for exporting in whatever format you want, with whatever control codes you want. Some of us have played with templates to export to rtf, html, etc. Have a look at the "Bonsai community shared templates" forum.

Richard;
I think with the presence that Blackberry has in most business environments you would be crazy not to have a version on this platform. I know from my experience using your product that Bonsai was invaluable to me as a project management tool and an organizer. Blackberry seems to be the tool of choice for executives, managers and engineers, presisely the group at which Bonsai should be targeted.
