I use Bonsai to track projects and tasks I've assigned to people. I then like to have regular meetings with them to review status. Some items I don't need to review at every meeting. I would like to assign a followup date so I could then filter items based on the follow up date. Any ideas how to do this without using the start date, create date, or due date fields?

If you want to filter by a specific date each time (review date = ...., rather than review date > ....), then you could put Review Date: .... in the notes field, then set up a text filter. Otherwise, you're stuck with the start and due dates. But, maybe you're over-complicating? Couldn't you just arrange to review things which have a due date that's passed, or a due date within the next week? Alternatively do you just want to review items which have started (Today > Start date) but are incomplete? I think, with a little care in setting up filters it should be possible to do most of what you want without having to set up an additional date field (which would then need you to spend more time entering and updating dates).

Just a few thoughts for your consideration,
Stéph

If you just wanted it to come up with a follow up on a specific date, you could create a link to a new contact representing the date : ex. 09/01 for sept 1st, then filter by contact - the dropdown list when creating the filter will show you all of your follow up "dates", just pick the date you want and apply the filter. This wouldn't work for >, <, etc. The nice thing about this approach is that when you create or edit this filter, you can see all the dates you have contacts (follow up dates) for. I think all the dates would sort to the top of the contact list if they started with a number
