Wanted to share a conversation I had with my brother this morning.
A couple years ago, I introduced him to the world of handheld computers by giving him a Tungsten E for his birthday. He's not really technical, nowhere near the gadget freak that I am, but in talking to him about his job, I thought a Palm and Bonsai would help him out. He's a custom home builder for a large company in Dallas.
Not only did Bonsai help, it completed transformed how he worked and managed information. He depends on it daily.
He has since gotten a better job at a more upscale builder, and they got him a Blackberry so he can stay in touch via e-mail. He was very upset today, because he not only dislikes the Blackberry form factor, but his Tungsten battery isn't holding a charge. He said things like "I depend on Bonsai" and "I need my Bonsai."
I thought it was pretty cool that someone who isn't normally dependent on technology and gadgets has incorporated Bonsai so fully into how he conducts business. I never thought I'd be having conversations with my brother about custom views and filters... i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif
I suggested that if he's unhappy with the BB, to ask his new employer to get him a Treo like mine, or upgrade his Palm (something with Bluetooth) and get him a cheap phone. He did show his boss Bonsai and the boss was pretty impressed. Maybe an opportunity to sell a bunch of licenses?

Interesting. Thanks for introducing Bonsai to your brother.
Any chance his company uses MS Project? We seem to get lots of home builders using the combination of MS Project on the desktop with our Project@Hand software on their Palm device. We even had the Custom Home magazine cover an article on Project@Hand in their Jan 2007 issue.

They might, but I don't think so. He's worked at three companies and I don't think MS Project was in any of them. Lots of paper-based organizational stuff + custom applications (or customized OTS software) that got used.
