I really like that I can select multiple lines, but I have found that this does not work in filtered views. It works fine in unfiltered views. In filtered views, I can select all the top level items, but no children.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug? Or is this by design?

Thanks

Dave

In the desktop, I often use the left "gutter" to select multiple items to edit, copy, etc...

Is you issue with the desktop or handheld? Also, what filter are you using?

My issue is with the Desktop. And yes, I am using the "gutter". (Or at least, I think it is the gutter. It is the grey boxes, left of the text where an arrow appears when the focus is on that entry/line.)

Now when I went to answer your question about filters, I think I found out what is going on.

- On the General Tab: only Text search for "P/"
- On the Options Tab: only "include entire brance when parent matches" and start at level 1
- On the Categories Tab: I have only one category selected.

Now that one category "FocusAreas" is top level and that is where the text is matched. But I have it show the entire branch when the top level matches. Using this filter, I can select any one line that is not of the category "FocusAreas" but I can not select multiple lines. I can select multiple lines that are of the category "FocusArea" but it does not select any of the children in between. (I select one line that is a FocusArea and keep dragging, but subsequent lines are not selected until I get to the next FocusArea which is selected.)

It does seem to me that the behavior is wrong. I love this filter to show me a portion of my GTD system (Work, Personal, other) but I still should be able to select multiple lines if they are showing on the screen.

Thanks

Dave
