Welcome to my Bonsai Blog. I hope to post interesting information from
my X files. I love Bonsai and find it so useful and realized I could create
a blog right within this forum. I will attempt to bring together the best of the best
Bonsai has to offer whether that is wiith its native functionality, hacks, third party software, etc.

Wednesday, November 22, 2006 - Use Bonsai to manage your Bills
I can use the already existing tools in Bonsai to help keep track of my bills.
Now what I describe here is a simple implementation of this that I am sure
people can add to.
Create an outline with a first level hierarchy that can be used to group
the intended bills by group and appropriate columns. For example:
Text________________ Due______________Cost________________Days until due
>Business____________ "Shows date"_____"Show total of subs"_____"Shows days until due"
--- Car Rental costs_____________________"Shows item's cost"
--- Hotel Costs
--- Air Travel
>Personal
--- Online porn
--- Sci fi Monthly
--- Netflix
This is just an example. Any resemblence to actual activity is purely coincidence.
With the right custimization I could see linking to a to do or calendar and setting
an alarm when it gets to a couple of days ahead.
I never will be in mystery about total costs of certain categories, due date, and days
until due. Heck I can even enter as many transactions as I want then filter for specific ones
for weekly or monthly periods as well as total activity.
Hope this has been helpful. I want to believe there are actually people who actually
go to the community section of this forum

The Best Filter/GTD Context Interface Ever?

I am always looking for ways to have things work better so this idea hit me.
Take a look at the feature request post by clicking on the link below. There is also a poll set up to vote on it.
I am taking the day off tomorrow. This has been a busy week. I will be returning some
time next week. However, I do intend to post on Tuesday to celebrate the release
of "12:01" on DVD. This is a sci-fi movie based on the time loop phenomenom. If you watch
the movie carefully you can find some very interesting insights into time management & life
in general. I will either be posting a new GTD Bonsai Implementation or the Ipod Implementation.
Update : posting on either of these 2 topics will be pushed back a few days. Feel free
to reply or private message me regarding how useful or not this blog is for you. Thank you.

Tuesday, November 28, 2006 - Movie Recommendation
Here is a quick movie recommendation. If you have netflix this would
be a great one to put on Q. It just came out today on DVD and it actually looks
like it includes some special features like a director's commentary.
You'll be able to tell from the review that this is a lost gem.

Feburary 19, 2007
This will be my final posting in this makeshift blog format.
It all started exactly 3 months ago November 19, 2006. I remember it well and since
that time I believe I have crossed several major milestones. I have gotten a lot out of being with
you guys (lurkers and not lurkers) just from the sheer fear & pressure of having to
provide content. The thing bloggers everywhere live with everyday. i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif
The government has decided to close this branch and I have found a new office
where I can continue the work I have been doing here. The office is a little bigger
and I will be getting a whole bunch of new office supplies.
This is not an ending. It is rather just a transfer of energy from one form to another.
Thank you for all your page views. I could not have done it without you.
The work done with GTD Implementation has been a big success as it has
gotten even more page views than this one. I hope to incorporate information
about GTD and Bonsai in my new digs.
I will continue to post in other sections here as needed and thank you for your
readership and hope you join me over at my new address at Palmorganized.com
Thank you in advance for any comments left afer this post.
