Hi! I have been tsting out different software. So far, I love Bonsai (implementing my GTD stuff).

One thing I would like to do is record differnt tasks associated with people/contacts. I know I can export out to Day Notez but was wondering if there is another way. Perhaps something similar to how Agendus puts different completed tasks in the note section of the person in your Palm contacts. I would ultimately like to see a list of different tasks with their dates for particular people.

Thanks!

For detailed contact management, you'd need to consider something like Agendus. Bonsai doesn't automatically append notes to entries in the contacts database like Agendus does.

That said, It's easy enough to assign projects and tasks to individual contacts (using the 'contact' field) and then filter the outline to show just the items associated with that contact. When I've delegated a task to another person, I change the category (set up for "contexts" in GTD) from !call or @meeting, to ?waiting for. I can then set a deadline date for it, after which point I will start chasing that contact for a response.

If you use notes to record all correspondence and conversations related to a particular task, it gets harder to filter all the communication you've had with a particular contact (unlike in Agendus), but it's not impossible if you use a filter to search for their name in the text field.

Good luck setting up a system which works for you.

I can see why you are a senior member, Steph.

I really like the consistency of the intelligent approaches you have to
using Bonsai. I like the idea filtering on on a specific contact to see
all the activities related to them. I also liked the suggestion you gave
about creating a tickler based on editing the start day and creating
a filter for x amount of days before.

Are you really an alien? I work for the FBI and I may want to ask you a few
questions. If you are not I wondered if you have ever thought of updating
your picture? I think a lot of members here could add their own personality in this way.
Also I always wonder if you are male or female with your name being Steph. If you would
like to keep this information confidential you can always private message me (The orange tiype icon).
