I am playing with Filters, and can't get it right

I wanted to filter out the completed tasks, but nothing I tried will let me see the "simple" items on a filtered view

Here is what I tried, I basically created an empty filter,
Status = to Any Status
Type = any type
Priority = all priorities
etc
and the "simple" items go away

then I tried, status to "incomplete"
and the "simple" items go away

I even tried setting "type" to "simple", ... all I got were "tasks" etc..

am I making a Newbie mistake?

thanks in advance

Addtional Info,
all that was on the handheld.

On the PC, when I set the status to all status
it shows the "simple" items

but when I set the status to "incomplete"
the simple items go away.

thoughts?

Not 100% sure, but I'd suggest looking at the Global Settings 'Show simple items when filtering on status' - try turning it on and see if your results make more sense. I guess the issue is that simple items don't have a 'complete' state.

Yep, StuGib..... that's it.

I think its fine to have that option, but I'm not well enough configured to use it yet
in the meantime, I'd like to turn off my completed items without losing half my list.

now I'm good
