I am getting some strange results with DatePak. It began with a bitmap icon for one DatePak calendar (created by resizing some clipart) that caused my palm to reset itself. I eventually got it off of my palm and re-installed the calendar without the problem icon. I then added some different calendar packages and things got bizarre:

After installing three calendars, only one showed up in Launcher X. I opened it up and when I closed it a second of the three appeared, but with an identical icon as the first. When I opened the second it looked ok, but on exiting (returning to Launcher X) it reset my palm. After the reset all three calendars showed up, but the last two now have identical icons when they should not.

I also got the following errors in my hotsync log prior to most of the reset problems:

*****
-- System
-- Possible database overwrite problem. Backing up database with Creator ID 0x4e445031 to file C:Program FilesPalmWeberTBackupWeb_Calendar_Contents.PRC. The file contained database with Creator ID 0x4e445030 data.

Any idea what the problem is and how I can resolve it?

Thanks,

Todd

When a DatePak application is generated it is given a common Palm OS Creator Id. When it is first run on the handheld it checks to see if other DatePak applications are present and changes its Creator Id so it does not conflict with the others.

It appears that Launcher X is caching information about creator Id's and the application icons (and possibly other attributes).

Check to see if Launcher X has a command to refresh its cache. If not then I would recommend keeping the DatePak applications on the storage card until needed.

George,

I moved all four DatePak calendars to the memory card. I tried launching each from the card first using Launcher X and then the default Palm application and had the same resetting problem with each. I then realized you probably meant copying one calendar from the card to the RAM at a time, so there were never two calendars in the RAM at the same time. I tried this and it worked without a problem.

Thanks for your help!

Todd
