Hello Friends,
for two weeks now, I am the fan of GTD with Bonsai (Palm/Desktop) for my office stuff. I have some things which are required to be discussed with certain persons when I meet them or have a telephone conf.
Every item to talk about gets the persons contact name in the contact field. The items can have the keyword "waiting for" or "next action":
Item: Keyword: Contact:
Item1 next action Skywalker, Luke
Item2 waiting for Solo, Han
Item3 next action
I understood that the common thing of items that are things to talk about is that they have a contact. Therefore I thought I do not require a new keyword like e.g. "talk about".
The bonsai filters allow me to filter for a specfic person, but not for items that have any but not no contact. I wanted to have a list of items sortetd by contact and then by item ID.
Did I maybe miss anything in the filter options? If not, what do you propose of how to deal with things to talk about?
Thanks up front and best wishes from Germany,
Logan

Hi Logan,
If I understand you correctly, you can filter for items which have something in the contact field. In the Dates tab of the filter definition screen (on HH) the Contact text area has an option underneath it that says 'Match any contact name'. Selecting this option puts a wildcard (*) in the Contact field which when applied will only show items with a contact (i.e. not those with nothing in the Contact field).
I'd suggest using these options:
- 'Match any contact name' selected
- Keywords = 'at least one selected keyword' from 'next action' and 'waiting for' keywords added to the list.
- Display result as flat list, sorted by contact name
This will show a flat list of items with contacts, grouped by contact. I'm assuming you are using v4 to do this fully.
