Just learned from the wifie yesterday that she will be back from AZ to MI on Oct. 20, which will make it (@4.5 months) the longest single time span we've been geographically apart in over 44 years. But our daughter continues to make considerable improvement with the pelvis issues, and the twins are helping to keep things interesting out there. As she says, "We usually hit the ground running around here." But everyone is in good health, and for that we are highly grateful!!!

[Written yesterday for another audience, but think it might be of interest to some.]
Greetings,
It seems like there's a lot of "noise" going on around us and within us much of the time, perhaps especially contributed to by the culture in which we live. Here I am using that word "noise" to refer to the things which eventually "wear us down" or "drain our energy" in some way. While noise is a necessary part of our lives, sometimes it can exceed the limits of true usefulness to us.
And for my purposes here, the word "quiet" is being used as its opposite. Just as many kinds of noise can be enjoyable as well as necessary, so too quiet can be encouraging to us if we will give it room to do so.
It seems like we're "on the go" an awful lot of the time, and much of that occurs either of necessity or simply because we enjoy doing it. But it can easily get to the point where we almost forget that there is such a thing as "quiet," or feel that we must fill up such "space" with activity almost as soon as it occurs.
Healthy "quiet" can be greatly refreshing (i.e. encouraging) to us, as everyone of us can attest. Maybe if we're a little more deliberate about creating occasional oases of "quiet" in our lives, they would be much less likely squeezed out by the "noise" that is all too ready to take its place.
Noise counterbalanced by quiet is indeed a healthy and encouraging thing to have as an integral, if necessarily occasional, part of our lives. And it's interesting how often quiet costs only time and attention, rather than other things as well.
Each of us can bring to our remembrance those times of quiet that have been encouraging to us. And perhaps the more often that we purposely remember them and are alert for their possible re-appearance, maybe the more likely that further examples will indeed occur!
Be encouraged,
pops

Wow, just like that, well over a month has gone by since the pops has posted in any of his 3 topics of Gen. Chat; and after this one, it may be after the first of next year before the next one appears. This one is being written during some built-in during a week's stay at our youngest son & wife's new house (to them) here in Mendota Heights, just 3 mi. south of their previous place in St. Paul, MN. But the place is a vast improvement in many different ways, perhaps the most important being more conducive to the beginning of family life soon. Anyhow, our daughter continues to improve out in Phoenix, she and the twins are scheduled to fly (with my wife) for 2 wks. in MI starting Dec. 18 (with her husband coming in for a few days at Christmas). And our oldest son and family are doing well also.
Re my use of DayNotez (see section on PPC DayNotez). Because of the age of my handheld (Dell Axim 5), I finally decided to use it just for reading purposes. And because I also have the Palm version of DayNotez, to use that OS for the desktop and the handheld. The short of it is that I like my Landware Pro keyboard for use with my still very useful Palm IIIc handheld (their original color model), and so I'll use it for the desktop version as well.
Really have been enjoying my bluetooth Nokia 6126 for the past 5 months or so, and the handsfreeness of it all. Even though I had previously appreciated the retractable wired headset much with my Nokia 6030 before that as well. I'm just now getting around to setting up the voice-activated dialing of the bluetooth headset, which will be yet a further great asset for handsfree. And no, even apart from cost, I don't plan to get an iphone or any other "true" smartphone, regardless how many models come out or how low they get in "new contract" price.
Hope you and the folks at Natara all have a wonderful holiday season!!!

Just a brief note to mention that this is my final post in the 3 topics in "General Chat" that I have had ongoing for some time now on an occasional basis. More things, like more grandkids i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif , seem to be taking more time. My very best wishes to Natara and Forum users for a great holiday season and in the new year ahead!

Well, I thought that my last post on Dec. 6 was indeed my LAST post! But since Bryan has been kind enough leave my various Gen. Chat topics on the Forum for almost 3 months, the least I can do is at least write a very brief "update" here:
<Glad to see that "registered Forum users" needs just one more person to reach 2700.
<Be sure to read Bryan's latest "Rant" (Feb. 28) in Gen. Chat. Always buy direct from Natara; it's very easy to do via credit card or paypal.
<Glad to hear this from Bryan (This Message Board):
"Great news. We finally got the system cut over to the new database. Hopefully the forums will be a lot more stable since we are no longer tied to the somewhat unforgiving / single-user based Access format. My fingers are crossed."
<I continue to enjoy using daily my upgraded Palm DayNotez; some very good improvements!
<All continues well on my end, for which I'm very grateful. Just maybe you'll get another post in 3 months if these topics are still here.i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif

*Counting the one in the womb (due Sept.2), now have 5 grandkids (and Grammy is still counting).
*Good to see Forum user registration on the increase.
*Continuing to appreciate the latest Natara DayNotez upgrade to both Palm Desktop and Handheld. Also glad that users can purchase it directly thru Natara!
*Really enjoying the use of Palm's Universal Wireless Keyboard with my Palm T3 and DayNotez.
*Bryan is a good writer (see Jan. 8 posting in "This Message Board").

<We head out to AZ next Wed. for 2+ weeks to help with the twins, who just turned 2 a month ago. Momma & Daddy need some much-deserved R&R, like 4 days in Rocky Point, Mexico. I told our daughter that we "hit the ground running til we leave," so for her to use our time in AZ wisely for their needs/desires.
<I continue to be reminded of how much I enjoy using both Palm and Pocket PC OS's; they each have significant things to offer!
<See "palm article" in Gen. Chat for a more recent one just posted today.
<Continue to be so impressed with Natara in so many ways, after first exposure to DayNotez in 2000.
<Sometimes find myself wishing I could justify getting involved with Bonsai just for the opportunity to enjoy another quality Natara product.
<Go Guys at Natara!!!
---
<Btw I continue to be intrigued by the things that I can do without, whether I already have them or haven't yet purchased them.
