George, this may be completely unrelated to the Beta, but the problem began after moving to the Beta.
Getting duplicate Tasks in the Palm ToDo database. All Task items entered in Bonsai Desktop as Linked ToDos. I only have one occurence in Bonsai outline, but, over time, end up with 3 replicas of most items in the Palm database. It is not every single item, but the majority. In the past, I've tried unlinking all, deleting the stranded tasks in Outlook to clear them out of Palm database, syncing multiple times, then re-establishing links. A few days later, it happened again. Tried adding a "*" at the end of each linked item in Bonsai, syncing, and then deleting the obviously stranded replicas (those without a "*"), again using Outlook. That was a few days ago. Today, I noticed I again have 3 replicas of most every item. One other piece of the puzzle: another outline had difficulty opening yesterday, as it had text that was invalid in the new OTL file format. I had deleted that text a couple of weeks ago using a text editor as you had recommended, yet somehow it appeared again, leading me to believe it is restoring from an archive, which could explain the repeating problem with the duplicate tasks.
Any suggestions?

It does sound like an older OTL is restored (one that contains instructions to create To Do's during the next sync).
One way this could happen would be if the conduit was unable to save the modified OTL file during synchronization.

If you have diagnostic trace set for the logging level within Bonsai there might be interesting information in the log.

Hello George,

Did you manage to resolve this problem for LKent? I've just switched from Palm desktop to Outlook 2007 (which is fantastic! - It gives me a much better view of whether I'm assigning too many tasks to be done on a particular date). Everything synchronises OK except that, if I edit an item on my Bonsai desktop which has a todo link, I end up with duplicate tasks in Outlook. This is pretty disastrous for my attempts to get in control of my todo list, so I'd be grateful for any help in resolving the problem.

Regards,
Stéph

Stéph,
Do you also have duplicate ToDos on your Palm device? Bonsai does not directly interface with Outlook. Instead, it updates the ToDo on the Palm device. The Outline Sync conduit then syncs the ToDo from the Palm over to Outlook.
