Hi, Still trialing agendus. I found the Alt J shortcut to bring me Back2 Bonsai. Not as neat a solution as the desktop button, but still very nice, thanks.
Some questions.
1) Is there any way to see the keywords in Agendus? Even if they just appended to notes I could at least search for them.
2) I can’t seem to get the icons to work with the autolink. The only icons I have are the ones that downloaded with the Agendus program. (I recall there used to be issues with changing the order of icons; I have not deleted or changed any of them.) I have set up both Agendus and Bonsai to autolink a certain icon with a particular category, and both programs do this just fine. But after hotsync (twice) a todo entered in Bonsai shows up in agendus without the associated icon.
3)As far as I can tell, if I unlink or delete a todo in Bonsai, it gets deleted from agendus. But if I delete an item in agendus, it still shows up in bonsai, AND it still shows as linked. Is this correct? I guess this is a tag/link issue which I know you guys are currently working on; any chance this will be changed so it either deletes or at least shows as unlinked in Bonsai?
4) Another idea/question – Bonsai is great for creating an outline and figuring out what needs to be done, but, for me, it’s little awkward to move around in, e.g to find items and check them off. That’s why the autolink TODO option is so great, it pulls the todos into a simple checklist – but then there are the complications with linking to another program. Another way to generate a simple checklist from several complex outlines would be to link the todos to another Bonsai outline. I know I can do this manually; how about giving us the option to autolink todos to a particular Bonsai outline instead of the todo list?
Thanks for the help.

agendus questions: keywords - icons - unlink & delete

Hello again Susan,
I would find this quite useful too. Suggest adding it to the feature request forum, though do a quick search first as I think it may have come up before.
I've got the same problem and I think it's a bug/bad design in Agendus. If you've tried Datebk5 the default category icons get allocated to todos without an icon defined (as with those created through Bonsai links), but with Agendus the default category icons only get applied when you create a new todo IN Agendus. Therefore when todos are created outside Agendus the default icons aren't applied i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif Suggest a change request to Iambic and keep your fingers crossed it makes it in v.12 and then works properly in v.13! i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif
The linked todo does get deleted if you have the 'Delete linked To Do on unlink' option set in the Global Settings, Links page on the Palm. When I delete a todo in Agendus it DOES get unlinked in Bonsai, but I'm not using tags (though don't know why this would make a difference). Don't know why it's not working for you, sorry.
For the navigation, have you experimented with the Nav tab in the Global Settings, Nav tab? I sympathise with trying to track down the item you're looking for - it is tricky sometimes when you have a complex structure, but I think that's true with any outline. A combination of visual clues (icons, colour coding), the Find function, and structuring your outline to match your situation will help.
I'm not sure I understand the auto-link outline idea. I can understand automating the existing 'link to outline' function but I'm not sure why it helps - it's just a link to open the outline - the todo doesn't get copied to the linked outline.

Hi - thanks for the quick reply. As for nav tab, you must be referring to the palm; I can't find it on the desktop. As for the awkwardness in moving around, I agree, it's true of any outline -- it has other strengths that make up for it. And, colors & icons do help.

You're right - my mistake. I hadn't actually tried the function, just assumed it worked like a todo link. Oops. Well, if we COULD copy items into another outline, I'd like to be able to do it automatically . . . i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif
