OK, I'll get the ball rolling.

Here's a trick for quickly clearing all the keywords for selected items on the desktop.

1. Select as many items as you want
2. Choose Item > Keywords
3. In the Select Keywords dialog, check "Replace current keywords with selection", but DON'T SELECT ANYTHING
4. Click OK.

Boom, all the keywords in the selected items have gone.
