Natara Programmers Refuse To Listen To Their Customers

Can somebody in the executive offie tell me why Natara REFUSES to listen to their customers?

If you read through the forums you will see many requests for a IPhone, Blackberry and Android version. MOST pocket PC users have put away their pocket pcs and palms and switched to one of the 3 mentioned smartphones and now they can not use their software. I for one have been a Daynotz user for many years but about 2 years ago I put away my pocket pc for a blackberry and will not go back. Where I used to be on Daynotz many times a day, now I never use it since it is only available on my laptop.

I do not understand a company that is not willing to progress.

Anybody else agree with me or am I alone in my beliefs?

Am I wrong about PPC and Palms? Are they not fading away? Are people still caring them in addition to their cell phones /smartphones?

I just upgraded to a Windows 7 Home Premium netbook and set up DayNotez which I am using and syncing OK to my TX, but it is very, very slow at times, with regular 'not responding' messages. Is this going to be normal with Windows 7?
Also the dates format in the custom view is not correct ie 3/24/2011 rather than my preferred 24/3/2011, which seems to be OK in other views. Is this a bug?

Daynotez On Android

I used daynotez on the PC smartphone and it was the best of the best of that type application. I have transitioned to the MyTouch (android) with tmobile and can find a lot of note apps for this phone, but non as good as Daynotez. With roughly 30 new android phones currently hitting the market, you guys thinking about developing an android version?

I use 3Bananna software for notes and it does 'cloud' sync with my data which is stored on a server somewhere. Kinda neat. I also use SplashID which does a wireless sync with my desktop on demand. Either method is good, but like your desktop software - so would prefer the wireless sync method.

Any hope for an android version?

Linux Daynotez Desktop Under Development -- Any Interest?

Greetings,

A few years ago there was some activity on this forum from people who wanted to see a native linux DayNotez desktop. I'm writing one for my own use, using wxGTK for GUI and sqlite3 for data storage. So far I've got the test harness reading every record from the PalmOS database, converting it to a PC record that can be stored in the database, then converting it back to PalmOS format. A compare of each record with its original verifies a good conversion. The sync framework is in place but not complete yet (I'm forcing a slow sync every time).

I intend to make it look and feel just like the Windows version. It will run on linux only; the Windows desktop already works just fine. All libraries will be statically linked in, which means the executable will be quite large, but will have NO dependencies. It should run on any X terminal.

So... is there still any interest? If so, let me know so I'm not wasting my time. I know Natara won't be able to support it so I'll be happy to offer support on an email-only basis.

Cheers, Bert

Is Daynotez Dead?

I'm curious, is daynotez being developed any further? I cannot find any news of future versions for new phones or pdas. I've been holding off upgrading my windows phone (probaly windows phone 7), in the hopes of SOME news of a compatible Daynotez version. I would go Android or even !Gasp! iPhone, but I have yet to find a comparable app that will satisfy my needs as Daynotez has! I've even followed Natara on twitter, but find NO mention of any new developement! I am/will continue to use this excelent product, but I don't know how much longer I can hold off! Even if there was some kind of emulater for the new OS's. Just my 2 bits worth.

Cannot Run Daynotez Desktop 1.5

For quite a few years I have used the PPC version of your Daynotez application along with the companion desktop version. A few months ago, I started using a new phone (Palm Pre) which from what I have seen and read, is not compatible with current Daynotes software. This in itself is not a major problem since I am not planning on keeping the Palm long term anyway.

The problem I am encountering is for some reason, the Desktop application just stopped working...it appears to load and I can see the application in Task Manager, but the application is not visible. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop version in spite of not being able to run the PPC app, both prior to and after cleaning the registry..(I'm running XP SP3 by the way). I have also downloaded 1.7 beta update as well but the same behavior.

So my question is this; are there other suggested troubleshooting measures that I need to take in order to successfully run Daynotez again on my Laptop. I believe these issues are specific to my laptop since I can install all Daynotez versions successfully on other machines.

Thanks...

I've rebuilt my device (Sprint HTC TouchPro 2, stock ROM) and need to reconnect my desktop DNZ with the handheld DNZ.
Everything worked well before the rebuild.

Nothing has changed on the desktop.
Windows 7.
DNZ 1.7.4
DNZ runs fine there.
I installed DNZ on the handheld from the Marketplace.
Ver: 1.6.1.9
It runs fine there and has all my data, the DNZ file is on the storage card and survived the reset.
I've done this before, re-established the sync after a rebuild, on this device a couple times but figure there's probably some tip or trick for doing it the right way.
1. In the notes list view, it would be a be a huge improvement if I could finger scroll up and down through the entries.
2. It would be very helpful, as mentioned in this forum elsewhere, to be able to attach pictures. I often have to take handwritten notes which I want attached to a DayNotez note.
