Use Daynotez Without Ppc Sync

Hi,

I've been a user of Daynotez for several years. I recently bought a netbook and want to use Daynotez on it in addition to my ppc and my main computer. I have an online sync software (syncplicity) that keeps the data on my computers in sync, so I installed DN on my netbook, copied the DB to the same path as on my main pc and imported the registry keys from my main computer on which I do the syncing with my ppc. When I try to start DN on my netbook however, it keeps insisting that it has to sync first. Probably I've overlooked a registry key? How can I make Daynotez work on my netbook without syncing to ppc?

Password Lost

I stopped using my Palm TX for almost a year (blame it on my Blackberry and Circa notebook). Now I want to go back to it, and one of the apps I want to use is Daynotez. But I cannot remember the password! How can I fix this?

Duplicates, Multi-Select, How?

Hi all, I have a simple question - can't find an answer. I have a bunch of duplicates in my Palm version and my desktop. Is there any way to select multiple entries and delete them all. Standard CTRL Click doesn't work on the desktop. What am I missing?

Daynotez Desktop Without Pda / Hh Sync

Hi

My PDA / HH broke down a while ago and I have continued to use Daynotez desktop for a lot of my work which requires regular journal entries. I am now moving to a new laptop and just became aware that I cannot access my migrated Daynotez notes without doing a hotsync with a HH device. I have many hundreds of Daynotez entries which I am unable to access on my new laptop. Help with a workaround or some solution to this problem would be much appreciated!

I am giving serious thought to jumping to the iPhone when my current contract expires in August. I love your program and would like to see a version for the iPhone. The desktop will run on my new Mac under parallels so only the iPhone port would be absolutely necessary. Is this anything you have under consideration?

Missing Items With Windows 7/Mobile 6.1 Sync

I just updated to a Windows 7 laptop. When I installed DayNotez everything seemed to sync fine. However, many of my items did not fully sync. The items show up on the desktop with the correct date and time but some of them appear empty. They still look fine on the Windows Mobile phone.

Keword Not Stored

During input a keword, DayNotez is displaying existing matching keywords in the input field. When I agree a keword suggested, there is no update in the database. The Problem isn't existent, when something else has been changed also(e.g. text input) or when I select a keyword from the pickuplist (after pressed the symbol in front of the input field).

Registration Invalid Notification

I have purchased Daynotez for both Desktop & Winmo device and have been running it for a number of years. This morning my handheld said that my registration was not valid for the PPC. When I did a sync, the sync software says that my handheld PPC is invalid. How do I fix this? Daynotez on PPC is unusable at this time - bummer!

Daynotez & Windows Mobile 6.5

Just joined...
Am looking for a suitable Note taking application for my new HTC HD2 and thought I would try DayNotez for Windows Mobile.

I've downloaded the trial version plus the two SQL Server files.
Installed the two SQL files first followed by DayNotezPPC15.armv4.cab

It's at this stage where DayNotez brings up an 'Exception' error and refuses to load.

Therefore, my question is:- Does DayNotez run with Windows Mobile 6.5?

Daynotez On Android

I used daynotez on the PC smartphone and it was the best of the best of that type application. I have transitioned to the MyTouch (android) with tmobile and can find a lot of note apps for this phone, but non as good as Daynotez. With roughly 30 new android phones currently hitting the market, you guys thinking about developing an android version?

I use 3Bananna software for notes and it does 'cloud' sync with my data which is stored on a server somewhere. Kinda neat. I also use SplashID which does a wireless sync with my desktop on demand. Either method is good, but like your desktop software - so would prefer the wireless sync method.

Any hope for an android version?

Can I time stamp an entry?

I will use this diary software for traveling a lot.

I have an application to send emails automatically using WiFi.

I want to be able to copy an entire date to the clipboard and put it into the email software without copying each entry. Very laborious.

I thought I can make only one entry for the day and time stamp each entry. That way I would have to copy only one file.

I travel for 3 months at a time frequently. So I want to save time. Sometimes I make six or more entries a day.

Any other suggestions for using this software for traveling and keeping a daily diary?

Deleting Daynotez Users On Desktop

For a number of reasons linked to phone upgrades and then an updated phone ROM, I now have three users within DayNotez.

I only need the current user but cannot discover how to delete those that are no longer required (and which contain duplicate data up to the point when the next user was created).

Can you advise how to remove the two unnecessary users?

I'm amazed that no one has talked about this yet. How about a automatic blogging conduit to Movable Type? Even if you just create a conduit that will mail anything you add to a specific category to a specified email address, this should work. Just imagine taking your notes, coming home and synching, and then have that appear on your website right away.

Plus if you integrate photos, then Zire 71 (or any Palm with integrated camera) becomes the ultimate capture and broadcast tool.

Exporting or Printing all Entries

Because I have switched from Palm to BlackBerry I need a way to export all the DayNotes entires into a TXT or CVS file or at the very least be able to print out all the data I have entered.

Is there a way to do this? I have v. 1.7.1

Registering Daynotez On Wm 6.51 Device

I just started getting this warning:
There are xx days remaining in your trial period.
As of 14-Dec, the xx = 12 (There are 12 days remaining in your trial period).

I think this relates to switching laptop computers. I've been running DNZ on this device with 6.51 installed for a couple months now.
The most recent change was that I moved to another laptop.

I just entered the registration code on my new laptop today. I moved to it early last week.

The problem is that after entering my registration code on the device, another message appears saying that I need to set the Owner name.

I don't know where to set the Owner name in WM 6.51.
I haven't seen it on the Settings screen(s) where it used to be.

Filtering And Desktop Version Problems

Hi, I'm using Daynotez well.
one of the important functions of Daynotez is filtering, I think.
So, to find it with accuracy and speed, it needs multi-category filtering.

and in the desktop version, I wonder how the password function works.
I use daynotez and minimize it by clicking the daynotes subject on the taskbar of the window xp. and reactivate, then I can see the password window.
In this moment, without password input, press ok. then daynotes window is activated. so password window is useless?
and in the desktop version, inserting template works not well. (i.e. pre-typed keyword of template always failed to be inserted.)

and finally, sometimes I can see the error message "registration number is not matched with owner's name."

Is There A Limit To The Number Of Daynotez Entries?

I ran into a weird problem with DayNotez on my PDA today. I can't add a new note without the PDA locking up and giving the following error message:

Fatal Alert
DataMgr.c, Line:9524, Index Out of Range

If I reset the PDA (by pressing the reset switch in back), after restarting, if I try again to input a note, I get the same error.

But now I'm wondering if there is a limit to the number of DayNotez entries, because if I delete one note, I can create a single note without a crash. If I delete 5 notes, I can create 5 new ones, etc.

This is DayNotez Palm OS version 2.9.1 build 1870 on a Sony Clie NX-70.

My DayNotez database is huge, and aside from looking up addresses, DayNotez is the main thing I do with my PDA. I backup all my files to a memory card, but I stopped HotSyncing to my desktop PC a couple of years ago, because the synching of DayNotez was the slowest part of the HotSync process and could bog down my computer for an hour.

Daynotez On Two Computers

Is there a recommended procedure for synchronising Daynotez across two computers, a PC and laptop?

I've had to give up doing this as I found that there were missing entries. A common problem also was to find entries across both but text in one and blank in the other.

After a hard reset, I've decided to give it another go. But I am finding that ActiveSync cannot copy the file ...\Natara\DayNotez\DayNotezDb3.sdf. Not sure what this is about. Any thoughts?

Fatal Exception Generated When Viewing An Entry.

Greetings,
I'm running DayNotez 3.0.5 (build 3179) on a Tungsten T5 (Garnet v.5.4.8).
DayNotez used to work in this configuration. If I open DayNotez I can see the summary page of my entries. If I try to open any of the entries a Fatal Alert / Fatal Exception error is normally generated (around 80% of the time). In the 20% of cases where the entry opens, scrolling or even shifting the text entry boxes from viewed to hidden generates the same Fatal Alert / Fatal Exception error.

To complicate matters I'm now running Linux on all my machines so it is a bit of a pain to restore the database - although I do have backup copies somewhere. Because I've gone fully Linux I rarely use DayNotez now, but need to access some old data as a once off.

Any ideas?

Merging Daynotez Databases?

I have to switch between a Palm TX and a Palm Centro depending on my location because I cannot use the Centro as a phone at all locations. I have some Daynotez entries on the Centro that I did not sync and now I have been using the TX for a while. I would like to get the entries from the Centro back on the main Daynotez database. Is it possible to merge the databases? If not, is there any way to get the entries from the old database into the current database easily?

Import Calendar Events

I was a dedicated user of Daynotez Palm, and hoped to continue that when I moved to the mobile platform.

It's taken me quite a while to get the program working consistently, but I think I've sorted everything out. But I do miss one feature that was extremely useful with Palm version. The integration with the calendar meant that it could import events into the Daynotez, saving the trouble of entering all the details for each entry.

Is there plan for this sort of feature in the future? I hope there will be parity between palm and mobile versions.

Missing Entries On Handheld After Upgrade To Desktop

I just installed DN Desktop 1.72, but my Palm T|X was still running DN2 as a stand-alone.

When I synched, DN 3.0.5 was automatically installed on the handheld and the Desktop copied all of the entries that were on the handheld, but it looks like the only entries still remaining on my Palm are new entries made using the 3.0.5 version. Synching again didn't change this.

How can I get back the DN2 entries on my handheld?
